JumpBox for OTRS is a virtual appliance for OTRS. OTRS is a ticket request system (also known as a trouble ticket system) with many features to manage customer telephone calls and email messages. The JumpBox for OTRS allows anyone to be up and running with this system on any OS in under a minute. This JumpBox is now running on the production release of the v.1.1 platform and includes several enhancements. Most notably, this includes built-in automated backups to Amazon S3, integrated Web stats for the application, a GUI-based SSL cert configuration tool, a GUI-based method for configuring an email relay, and an update of the underlying OS to Ubuntu Base 8.04 LTS.

ICU provides a Unicode implementation, with functions for formatting numbers, dates, times, and currencies (according to locale conventions, transliteration, and parsing text in those formats). It provides flexible patterns for formatting messages, where the pattern determines the order of the variable parts of the messages, and the format for each of those variables. These patterns can be stored in resource files for translation to different languages. Included are more than 100 codepage converters for interaction with non-unicode systems. This is a major release with new features, new APIs, and many bugfixes in data and code. Unicode 5.1 is supported, and CLDR 1.6 includes many improvements. Supported calendars now include Chinese, Coptic, and Ethiopic calendars. New APIs were added such as add/removeLikelySubtags. The charset converter file size was improved. This release includes Date Interval Formatting and Improved Plural support. Security improvements include fixes for CVE-2007-4770, CVE-2007-4771, and CVS-2008-1036.

GetHT downloads PDF files from Hinduism Today, an "award winning, Macintosh-generated, full color quarterly news magazine articulating Indian spirituality for 135,000 readers around the world." It is the only native GNU/Linux client available, has good proxy support, and allows you to only download the parts of the magazine that interest you. License: GNU General Public License v3 Changes:
This version is a lot cleaner, in both code and interface. There are a couple of new features in this release: download resume support and a new option to only download specific issue sections.

Mylene is a command line MPEG audio player. It can play plain and system embedded MPEG audio streams. It works for Linux OSS and ALSA emulated OSS and Mac OS X. The player can be used interactively by telling it to establish a UNIX or INET server on which commands can be received. The seek-h262 MPEG decoder is required for audio and system MPEG decoding. An improper handling of zero length playlists bug was fixed. Several new commands for program execution queue management and playlist shuffling were added in server controlled mode. Support for tagged playlists was added to allow for faster file selection.

The Parallel Virtual File System is a user-space parallel file system for use on clusters of PCs (and Beowulfs in particular). It provides transparent file striping across multiple machines and includes a loadable kernel module for use with existing binaries. TCP/IP is used for data transmission, and file data is stored on existing file systems on each machine. License: GNU General Public License (GPL) Changes:
Additional support for the latest Linux kernel versions. Improved performance for a number of metadata-intensive workloads, and improved support for multithreaded use of the system interfaces. A security layer has been implemented. This includes validation with credentials, conditional compilation for RSA, DSA, and no encryption, and private key loading and capability signatures. A deadlock bug has been fixed. file_aio_write_iovec has been implemented. There is code cleanup and minor bugfixes.

Urd is a Web-based Usenet binary download manager. It stores the newsgroup information in a MySQL database and aggregates the articles into sets of a single download (e.g. one album or movie). The Web interface can be used to search with regular expressions. It uses its own downloading daemon that has support for scheduling downloads and updating databases. A bug in setting directory permissions has been fixed. The buttons look in the default template has been updated. There is a new logo. A logfile line count bug, a nasty bug in the installer, a a couple of bugs in parsing NZB files, and a couple of other minor bugs have been fixed. RSS (2.0) support has been implemented. There are new buttons. debug.php has been added to show config information. XSRF protection vs usability has been improved.

OpenIPMI is an effort to create a full-function IPMI system to allow full access to all IPMI information on a server and to abstract it to a level that will make it easy to use. License: GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) Changes:

MCU 8051 IDE is a fully featured integrated development enviroment for MCS-51 based microcontrollers. It consists of a compiler, an advanced text editor (with highlighting, validation, and completion), a simulator, a scientific calculator, a hex editor, and many other things. This release adds support for the C language. There are many improvements.

The library provides an implementation of dimensioned values for Ada. Unit checks are made at run-time, if not optimized out by the compiler. SI and irregular measurement units are supported. Shifted units like degrees Celsius are supported too. Conversions from and back to strings are provided for all various irregular units. An extensive set of GTK widgets for dealing with dimensioned values is included, though use of GTK is not mandatory for the rest of the library. License: GNAT Modified GPL (GMGPL) Changes:

Policyd v2 (codenamed "cluebringer") is a multi-platform policy server for popular MTAs. This policy daemon is designed mostly for large scale mail hosting environments. The main goal is to implement as many spam combating and email compliance features as possible while at the same time maintaining portability, stability, and performance. Its features include detailed policy and group specification, access control, helo/ehlo checks (helo randomization prevention and RFC compliance), SPF checks, Greylisting, Quotas, and Amavisd-new integration. Better support for newer versions of Cache-FastMmap. Handling of the Postfix policy delegation protocol has been fixed. The table charset has been set to Latin1 for MySQL so that the MySQL index length limitation is not exceeded. Rogue commas in SQL have been fixed. CREATE INDEX has been added instead of INDEX() for better cross-database support. Indexing has been re-added to SQLite. Typos have been fixed and there are better error messages. Support for broken browsers has been fixed.

We are excited to announce that three key modules, Views, CCK, and Organic Groups, have published release candidates today, ready for testing. If you are interested in speeding the transition to a full release, install and test the Release Candidates (RC). Many months of work have gone into extensive rewrites of these modules, leading to major improvements that will make Drupal 6 an even more attractive platform for building websites.

As always, you should upgrade these modules on a test site first, and make sure to make a complete backup. You never know how your site's customizations will affect things, or what silly little thing nobody else caught.

ucanvcam is a cross-platform framework for building virtual cameras. Virtual cameras offer the same interface as regular cameras to client applications (such as Skype), but provide user-generated or user-modified imagery rather than imagery directly from a camera. While ucanvcam comes with a set of special effects, the main intent is to make building virtual cameras easier for people without OS-specific knowledge, so they can focus purely on image processing. The main addition was to support the "picmix" effect, where animations created with Blender can be used as surfaces for the webcam image.

phpfspot allows you to present a photo collection prepared in F-Spot in Web browsers. F-Spot is a Mono-based photo software to organize your photos in a very comfortable way locally on your workstation. phpfspot allows tag selection from a tag cloud, and browsing through the album is eased with AJAX. This release fixes problems that appeared when sorting by rate values. The same photo date as in F-Spot is now displayed in phpfspot too. The date input fields have been rearranged to allow easier input. The initial sort order can now be preconfigured in phpfspot's configuration file.

NetCDF is a format developed at Unidata that was inspired by the CDF format from NASA. NetCDF stands for "Network Common Data Form" and is a self-describing data format, commonly used in scientific and engineering applications. License: BSD License (original) Changes:

CODESH (COllaborative DEvelopment SHell) is an automatic persistent logbook for sessions of personal command line work. It records what and how is being done, for private use/reuse and for sharing selected parts with collaborators. It is an intelligent shell that automatically logs user's shell sessions. Sessions are uniquely tagged and stored in local or distributed backend repositories (ASCII flat file or Subversion or CVS based) and can be extracted and reproduced at any time by the user who created the session or by collaborators located anywhere in the world. The focus of this version is the distributed computing (remote) aspects of CODESH. A new subdirectory "remote" is introduced. It contains sample scripts showing how to set up remote (client/server based) Subversion, CVS, and ASCII backends, along with detailed documentation. The scripts can be used not only to set up CODESH backends, but general purpose remote Subversion or CVS pserver repositories as well. As usual, extreme caution and studying the documentation in advance is recommended before setting up servers.

Mumps Compiler is a compiler for a subset of the Mumps language, a language used mainly in healthcare. It is compatible with most operating systems with a standard C compiler. License: GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) Changes:

MPICH is a robust and flexible implementation of the MPI (Message Passing Interface). MPI is often used with parallel or distributed computing projects. It fixes a bug with linking to static and dynamic libraries.
